Fundraising Events are Go!

My College are planning a 'trip' to Goa, India. Finger's crossed I get to be one of the ones picked to go. Before we go we plan to raise £1,500 for a charity called Novi Survat. We will take this money to the charity personally and I'm sure they'll put it to good use. One of my Tutors goes to Goa every year, and always supports the same charity each time. They've brought them Minivans and such so that they can safely take preschoolers too and from their schools. While we're out there we also go to the slums in small groups, which will be quite the experience I have to say.

On the topic of raising, today money me and the rest of the girls at college ran an Easter egg hunt that we have been planning for a month or so now. We did it in our local public gardens, thanks to their trustee's giving us the chance to do so. We set up hand-painted, numbered wooden eggs around the gardens and when the children came to us we asked them to fill in a sheet of what colour and what pattern each egg had. In the end managed to raise £107 and a couple of girls have said that their parents and family relations are going to donate as well so all in total we have raised £149 (great number eh?).

We (as far as I know) enjoyed ourselves today, I know I did. I took my camera with me although I didn't get much in terms of photographs as there wasn't much to take pictures of. However, just in view of where we were sitting a child with their parent and possibly grandma were feeding a squirrel. One of us even pointed out that it was eating out of the boy's hand. Despite the cold and periodic winds, I really loved today and can't wait to do more fundraising.

And before I forget, Happy Easter!
